Yep I might get one of these. On your bottom pic is that hole for a TT? All lazer cut wood I see should fit together no bother.

Fantastic qmaverick...it looks great. Just a tip ....I realise your kit is a lot better quality than a md500 I bought from HobbyKing, but as an insurance, you should epoxy coat all your wood that the heli bolts too in the fuse. The one I have just shattered the wood mounts each time I went to fly. I eventually wrapped the stack of spacers with some drywall tape and coated them in epoxy. The wood was of such poor quality that it just splintered under load. The ply looks a heap better quality on yours, but a bit of extra glue wont hurt. Keep the pics coming.....

Looking good Q! Will you be doing a build thread on this? Would be great if you are...thanks! Not really a build thread, more of a picture book... Hardware should be ready for its maiden tomorrow, hope it goes well...

I did try to test hover the mechanics and had some very narrow escapes. First time I tried, the heli almost tipped over onto its nose, it was standing on the front tip of the left skid, did not have time to determine the exact cause but assumed it was because of the tailunit, I had some misgivings about it before trying... So reworked the tailunit, and this morning I could try again, and guess what, same thing happend. Spooling up goes fine, and just when it starts to lift the aileron servo decides to move down, you see the blades dip to the ground on the left side of the heli. Tried it without the motor connected and all was fine, no binding, nothing out of the ordinary. With the motor connected and the skids held down on the table you see the alileron servo drop just as the heli starts to generate lift. Back to the drawing board... Does anyone have any hints or tips on what could be the reason for this behaviour?

Fixed the problem that I had with the Aileron servo on the CopterX and had a successful testflight, so I tried to fit the CX in the fuse...
No luck, the back of the Elevator servo is sticking out way too far, so I can not get the mechanics in the fuse.
I am making quite a few changes to the CX to make it fit the fuse so I'll need to testfly it again when I am finished...
The story continues...

The joy of scale, I had that problem in a century hawk 30 and a funkey lonranger. I ended up having to make a new aileron mount. That was a fun test flight with the new mount in place not knowing what was going to happen. It flew great though and I'm sure you will get it up and flying

I had to add some shim material under the elevator servo moving it inboard. Your elevator pushrod will be slightly off center, hoever the swash works just fine and the heli flies well...

Thanks for confirming the route I have chosen, have the longer screws and nice spacers for the job, only problem is that the space I have inside the frame and my thick fingers are not compatible... ;D ;D ;D Prolly gonna need to split the frames again to get it done... The joy of scale indeed...

The TP MG90 servo's that I use on the cyclic are too high, so the elevator servo won't fit in the fuse no matter what I do... I'll be installing other no name MG servo's on the cyclic, these servo's are 4mm lower, should give me just the room I need...Not going to use the no names, too scared, don't want to crash and burn on the first run... So I ordered some TP SG90 cyclic servo's that are lower then the TP MG90's and won't break the bank... The nice clean build I had planned is not working out as I had hoped...

For some reason this build does not seem to go as planned... Yesterday I finally finished setting up the mecahnics for the MD500. On the first testflight the tail wasn't holding too well and the blade tracking was off, so checked and corrected 2 minor things and went for the second testflight. Headspeed was a bit high on take off, but tail and blade tracking were spot on. It flew really nice and then disaster struck... Blades, flybar, feathering shaft, main shaft and the gears of the cyclic servo's need to be replaced again...
