Osidak,
Just contact RCA just got off the phone with them and they are sending me the correct links of 50mm. Looking at mine what mine had was extra links for the swashplate to washout assembly. Cliff and Robert were there so give them a call

osidak.....the Trex 600esp manual is what I used to build my Chaos 600. I have included an image of it here showing what it should look like. The linkage rods w/o the ball links should measure to 50mm and once installed with the ball links center of the hole to center of the hole should read 70mm which is what I've stated in my earlier post. Take a close look at the pics. and make sure everything is the same with your setup. I mean the angle of those bellcrank arms and all.....I really hope this helps. Good luck....let me know.

Dr evil,
The links are short by 2.5 to 3 mm. The ESP manual and chaos manual have those links at 50mm. I think Osidak and myself are in the same boat the kit we bought came with 47mm links being the longest which is 3 mm too short and will not have enough control rod threaded on the ball links to fly it safely. He was on the phone with Robert and I was on the phone with cliff at the same time. Cliff has called me back and working on the issue as they only have 60mm in stock. He said he would call me back once they get something figured out. The easy and quick fix is to buy a set of trex 600 links, but for me I'm going to have to order them as my LHS do not carry 600 parts.

thats funny you where on the phone with them when I called. He was supposed to call me back but has not as of yet.
I am wondering if the reason my measurements are that far off is due to ball link ends being shorter overall. What is throwing me is that when I set the linkage up to be as close to the picture as possible (I am using both ESP and 600 manuals comparing one to the other) and using the 41mm number there is no way the linkage will connect between the servo arm and the bell cranks.
I very quickly measured from ball to ball before walking out of the office and 70mm is sounding very close to what I got - will need to check it in the morning.
So between the short rods and possibly short links that could explain my issues
Found a company in Florida readyheli that appears to have the ESP links in stock for $4.00
If RCA is out of stock or does not stock them I guess I will order the links from readyheli and some new ball link ends as well to be safe as my concern is still the amount of threaded rod in those ends. From your diagram it looks like you should have 4.5mm of rod in each end.
Dr Evil - from my photos (last few sets) what do you think in regards to mine being setup correctly?
Also what do you think in regards to my theory?

Yeah it was cliff and Robert cliff called me back and told me the only thing they had was 60mm lengths. He was going to look some more and call me back as well but no luck. I will see what they come up with tonight or tomorrow and go from there. I will have to special order the links or get them online. I will keep you posted if they call me back or not.

Also what do you think in regards to my theory? From those last few pics., they seem to look correct but just as Mike has mentioned...the biggest issues that you both have is that the linkage rods are just shorter than what they suppose to be. That said, it's messing up everything else in the process. At first I was thinking the bell crank arms were angled in the wrong directions but seeing that they're suppose to be pointing downwards which is correct matching that of the diagram I posted. Pointing down meaning the linkage ball that connects to the swash is angled/pointing downwards which is correct by the diagram shown. Also, "yes"...both rods should be equal in lenght. I hope you guys get it all resolved.

Never got a call back from RCA but going off Mike's post I decided to go ahead and purchase the links from another vendor - Should be here by Saturday or Monday. They did not have the ball link ends in stock though so I will use what I have and maybe make a took to accurately size them using the center of the hole in the link
Just measured mine again and looks like from center of the threaded ends on each side measures in at 72.73mm so that is still 2mm more than the manuals say
Will keep you posted

Mine turned out this way. After centering the servo , I set the bell crank level with the top of the frame at mid stick. Moving up the head worked out great after that. Fly safe... Drev. Sorry, but I can't ever seem to post a picture properly here for some reason. (damn computers!!!)

Just got a call from RCA - they are also sending me some longer rods and also replacing the washout arms so that will take care of the hinky bearing - Now time to sit back and play the waiting game

Osidak,
I got a call from Robert and he told me my control rods were made up and he was sending them out today. Did you get a call as well if not I imagine yours are on their way too.

Dr evil
I knew it would get squared away so no big deal. I will see how this 600 flies then may just pick up a 450 and another 500 to join my trex 500
