Thanks in advance The Chaos has a wider frame than any other heli. If you can't wait for Cliff to get them back in, you can get any Trex 600 compatible bottom plate and some spacers and it will bolt right in. I'm not sure how big the spacers need to be or how long of bolts, but I'm sure you could figure it out when you get a Trex plate.

As far as the base plate goes, i believe you can go with the 600N.

As far as the base plate goes, i believe you can go with the 600N. They only list one base plate (doesn't specify electric or nitro) and it's out of stock. I found this on RCGroups:

Thanks for the advice. I put myself on the waiting list for the Chaos bottom plate. I hope they get them soon.

edintexas, I dont believe that will suit the Chaos 600. That Flasher part is the same width as the stock Align 600esp, which is narrower than the Chaos 600. The Flasher 600 is a direct clone of the Align 600, whereas the Chaos has a number of differences, even though they are both made by Phoenixtech...I have asked the local Flasher seller on Ebay to measure the width of the bottom frame here in Aus and it is too narrow for the Chaos. If in doubt, shoot them a message and ask for the dimensions of the parts.

The reason I posted to this thread is because I needed to replace my Chaos 600 bottom plate. I had looked at the Chaos 600 bottom plate on RCA's parts list, as well as parts for T-rex on Tower Hobbies, WOW, Horizon Hobbies etc. I knew that the Align base plate is narrower than the Chaos. In the end I ordered from RCA just to be safe. Purely by coincidence my parts arrived yesterday from RCA. The bottom plate they sent is a Phoenixtech packaged part, exact same as the one I posted the link to. I think the Ebay add reference to this part fitting the T-Rex is incorrect. If you look at the lightening hole patterns in the base plates for the Chaos and T-Rex you can see the difference. Anyway, I'm not trying to sell anything but I'm pretty confident the part I referenced is identical to, if not the actual original that comes with the Chaos 600.

I hope I'm providing information here and not beating a dead horse. Here are the three assembly manuals (well 2 really and a build review) for the Chaos, T-Rex and Phoenixtech Flasher 600 birds. Chaos - www.myrcguides.com/files/Chaos600Manual2011.pdfT-REX - www.heliproz.com/images/trex600esp/KX016013manual.pdfFLASHER - www.rcgroups.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3996207(sorry for the long URLs. The documents are too large to attach.) The key to the question of which base plates are the same width lies in the mounting orientation for the elevator servo. If you look you can see that Align mounts the T-Rex elevator servo using a servo mounting box inboard of the main frame. In this configuration the servo horn aligns perfectly with the elevator control arm. If you try this with the Chaos they won't line up due to the greater body width and the links will clash with the servo horn at the extreme positions. To achieve alignment of the Chaos links you mount the elevator servo outboard facing inwards. If you look at the photos of the Flasher you can see that the elevator servo mounting orientation for that heli is identical to the Chaos because the width of the Chaos and Flasher bodies is the same. Again I would point to the fact that the parts bag I received from RCA is Phoenixtech branded. I admit I'm no expert. I'm putting together my first Chaos and the greatest amount of time I've spent on any task so far is getting the servos mounted and aligned correctly. Second to that the biggest "Duh!" moment has been stripping out two of the base plate screw holes via over tightening. I could probably have repaired them with CA but I decided I wanted this bird to be "perfect" when it hits the ground at 100 mph!!

The chaos is 55mm width between the frames. I emailed that guy on ebay you link, and he measured the part he sells at 54mm. So if hes telling the truth, it would seem to be the same size. I just made my own out of G10.
