We all have our own tastes man. Who cares if someone wants to save money and make there own helicopter parts. To each there own, and they are a hell of a lot stronger for someone learning to fly!

WOW! Thanks for sharing. I've just read the Google Doc and I can't believe this so you telling me that I can now use my A9 and BnF with any spectrum RXs? The only thing that Doc. doesn't talk about is how to actually bind the two. I know how to bind my A9 to my Optima RXs and I know how to bind my Dx5 to my mcpX. The Dx4 & 5 is a non-computer radio so i am sure it binds differently than say a Dx6 or higher but how do I physically bind my A9 to a spectrum Rx is what I want to know. Maybe the key is the DSM2/X module made by RC Groups user Hammer22. This must be a custom made module.

Yeap, it's all about the home brewed module to the TX. Dude, just upgrade the Dx5e to Dx6i. Should be able to find one used for 80-100 USD.

I totally would except that now I think I've finally killed my mcpX I believe the board is gone and even with a spare from one I've gotten from Chumley awhile back is not working either. I thought about picking up a nano instead of another board trying to fix the olde mcpX cause the whole thing is simply worn out. It really sucks cause I recently picked up a $hit load of 1s lipos for dirt cheap and have no use for them currently. I have two choices I think and that is to either pick up a nano or go for a micro BnF plane that uses a 1s lipo....but either one of these two I go with I am not sure I want to put in another $100 or so for a used DX6 Tx. I mean I wouldn't use a Spectrum other than these 2 choices I've mentioned, everything else is on my A9 which I am really happy with. The only reason I would even consider going with a DX6 is for the programmable abilities to either one of the models. I don't know...maybe if I landed a super deal on a DX6 or higher I might consider it.

Question for you guys, since I am thinking of the nano. Does anyone know the upgraded parts on the mcpX is compatiable with the nano? I've got the metal head and swash on my mcpX and wondered if it would fit on the nano if I decide to go that route. The two looks very similar so I thought they may work??? Thanks.....

Only thing compatible is the skids and tail rotor. It is a completely different and much smaller Heli. Don't waste $$ on upgrades just buy and Fly! It is indestructible!

wooohoooo!!! Almost perfect back flips finally with the bird. The difference? DX8 with HH's downloadable settings versus DX6i programmed per the manual. Why did I wait so long to upgrade TXes?
