I'm starting to do some mild aerobatics with my mCPx now. I've been taking this heli flying a little slow as I really don't like tearing my helis up. But, I have now turned the mCPx upside down. Now I can work on inverted hovering. After I get comfortable with the mCPx, I'll be trying it on my Chaos 600.

Pulled the trigger on a brushless motor/esc and a 120SR tail for my mCPx. It should be all the heli I need at my current abilities. Once I get the parts in and installed, I'll post my results here.

There are a couple of different ways to go about this. The first way is the inexpensive route: helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=315045Uses a Heli Max brushless conversion from a Novus, a "the Steve" brushless converter, and a pinion for a total cost of about $50. You could still do the 120SR tail mod as well which would add about $20 to it. Or you could go the full monty and get the Wow hobbies conversion for about $200. I did something closer to the Wow Hobbies version. The Heli Max was my first choice as I am a relative newby so much of the Wow mod will be lost on me, but the Heli Max parts are out of stock. So, I opted for the Wow HP05 motor / esc / "the Steve" combo for $105, a 120SR tail that I will modify myself, and some Hyperion G3 CX 550mah batteries. I'll still have $200 into it that that includes $50 worth of new 550mah batteries that can be charged at 5C. The nice thing about this combo is that it is plug and play, so no soldering for me to mess up. I placed the order today, so when it all comes in, I'll out it together and post results here.

Yeah...can't wait to see it bro.! I need to order a new swashplate as I finally broke the last of the linkage balls off of the swash where I can't put the links back on...LOL...I guess it was a good thing that it they had a total of 4 balls on, 2 for spare. Anyways, that said I think I'll up it to a metal version so I won't have this issue again down the road since I like to find a nice solid surface for me to plant the mcpX into at most times...LOL.

I flew my modded mCPx today. It has KDBB blades, metal blade grips/head, 120SR tail motor/blades, solid main shaft, solid and extended tail boom, Hyperion G3 CX 550mah batteries, and Wow Hobby HP-05 brushless conversion. The head speed is much better and the tail holds better. The heli is faster and much more responsive even though it's heavier. Attachments:

All of the blade helis I've flown have been very durable.
