I have heard of replacing the stock swashplate link balls with longer ones on the outer swash ring or shorter ones on the inner swash ring to get the required cyclic pitch.

I did the same with the links. See how you get on with 6.5 degrees. Mine was at it's lowest setting ( 40 ? ) to get 6.5 and it was ok and I had a camera gimbal hanging of the front. Depends on every setup of course. I also tried 3 swashes with the last one being Align I did not notice any difference.

Ok, good to know. I am getting 6.5 with the slider at 40 too. I was at 9.5, so I am happy the linkage could at least get me to the recommended value.

Tail upgraded to the newer Align 600 tail linkage, blade holders, and 700 tail blades. Fin set is from an 800.

OK boys need some help. Changing my 600E Flybar Chaos over from DX6i to XP9303. Head setup is driving me crazy.
When I level the swash it is ending up too high on the mainshaft to get a full range of pitch on the blades. I have to level the swash using the elevator height as the reference as the elevator doesn't allow height adjustment. I have had the heli flying with the DX6i for a long time and can't figure out what I have changed on the head that has thrown it all out of whack! Elevator linkage is centered in the observation hole.
At the point of setting it aside due to frustration. Any guidance would be appreciated!

I had the same problem when I first built mine. Check my "Head Setup Question" thread. In the end I had to lower the elevator arm below horizontal to get the blade pitch right. I wasn't happy about it but as a novice flyer I don't notice any interaction. Shouldn't have to do that though. It still irks me a bit.
