i got the venom 1300kv with some 12 and 14 tooth pinions . i will be testing those 2 out first , the 15 and 16 tooth that came with the kit would of been better with the stock motor or the align 1200kv. ready heli calc said i should be fine with the 12 tooth for my flying , and for some 3D the 14 tooth should put me in the 2300~2400rpm range . those are max # so i bet i would be in the 1800rpm with the 12 and 2200 with the 14 . my 450 i fly with a motor at 4400kv , talk about stable and smooth lol and some fast flying.

i ran into a small problem wit hthe belt version today. i am in the process of setting up the swash and it dosent have the short links for the elevator. i have a set for the blade links. i ended up cutting some of my plane pushrods and using the threaded part to make some links. someone needs to tell rc aerodine that these parts may be missing in the belt kits . beside that , the kit is going smooth

Other than that, I hope the rest of the build goes well. Let us know your progress. Have fun...... ;D

i didn't have a swash leveling tool but i do have one for the 700 . the shaft is slightly smaller on the 600 but i used the tail tube from the 450 to slide over the shaft then put the 700 swash leveling tool over the tail tube . i did have to notch the 450 tube all the way through but its a tight fit and the 700 leveling tool is a perfect match for the 600 swash . forgot the pics

Well heck...assembled and rechecked...good 2 go. Spooled it up just till it was light on the landing gear...looked great. It just needed some rudder trim. started to spool it up and snap crackle pop...magic smoke was escaping!@# Seems the phoenixtech 115a ESC fried. I have no idea as to why...all the solder points for the motor connections and battery connections looked perfect. Have checked the servos and gyro...still responsive. The battery pack caught some of the heat and the wires where they meet the battery pack are brown/black but not burned through...don't trust them right now. I'm hopeful the motor is fine as well but won't be able to test that until I get a new battery....woohoo what fun! LOL

LOL Really sorry to hear that bro., I am assuming correct count of cells on the lipo was used? Not trying to make it sound like its your fault, just trying to figure out what exactly happened.

two 3 cell 5000mah 11.1's in a series. I have a suspicion I may have had the spacing on the pinion and main gear off and causing stress on the motor...Have a feeling it pulled too much load and smoked. I confirmed the servos and gyro are good. Still have to check the motor. At least I had a chance to "hop" it once. Looking at a castle ICE now...but need to scrape up the funds for it.
