Has anybody felt the need to pin their boom in the boom block to avoid ejection. I know it is tight , but Finless has had the boom come out of a 500. Here is a pic of my 450 Pro pinned.

I know thats the question...honestly, I never pinned my 450, 600 or 700. That said, I did mentioned on my soon to be ready for viewing build video that I will be pinning the tail but who knows...we'll see. I guess a better question is do you really need to pin it? I look at it this way, even if the boom happens to slide out of the trans. case/box...it is still attach to the boom support and bracket so it really can't go too far. Thats another thing, not only is the boom really tight in there but its also being held in place with the boom support and bracket as well! I honestly think its a personal preference...but I am probably wrong.LOL.

Nothing wrong with a little redundancy, if finless had his pinned maybe it would not have came out. Any thing over 500 size I personally pin. Just my 2 cents... JGF!!!

I have been this hobby for over 12 years and my opinion of Finless is he is clueless! He probably forgot to tighten the dang thing up!. If you want to see if the tail will come out, grab a hold of it and pull on it! If it moves even after making sure all of the screws are tight, then you might want to pin it, If it doesn't move don't worry about it!

loosen your boom and see if you can pull it out. if boom supports are tight and the boom is oll the way in it should not be able come out. only boms i have pinned are on belt drive machines to keep belt tension.
