Have any of the team pilot guys been testing the new FBL unit? I feel like jumping on board but have also learned not to be a beta tester for products...

Is the 'new 600' head listed on RCA for $69.95 the same as the one in these 550 pictures? IE looks like the compass/tracx head? Parts compatible?

Yes, Mattox has and i believe a few guys @ RCA as well. Yes i have and i can assure you this unit is top notch! The abusive flying I have done to this unit is incredible! And being on the 550 makes it a beast! The gyro is very easy to setup and get flying and is the same size as the beastx! ill be switching all my beastx gyros to the new blackwidow!

Can you guys provide any more info about the gyro. What I am wondering is:
I see a port on the side, can you hook it up to a computer to program it? Is there any separate field programmer?
If you can, does it come with the USB dongle required or is it something that we need to buy? Will it be available right away?
Is the software ready?
Are other places going to be selling this gyro or only RCA? I wonder this because it seems if more people are selling it then it will be more likely it will get updates.

Based on what I have heard the delay has been the software. Cliff wanted the software available at the time the Blackwidow was released, and the manual updated. I still have yet to see one

Latest news on the all new FBL heads sold separately.....
Those new fbl heads will be arriving at the same time as the 550 so we're taling about a week or so ....give or take. Currently I don't have a solid price from Cliff yet but from what I gathered, it will be very similar in cost to that of the Chaos fbl heads on their website. There may be a $10-15 variant....so for example, the Chaos 600 flbl head is selling for $69.95 making the new Compass "like" fbl head anywhere from $79.95-$84.95 (don't quote me on it but should be very close).

Sorry, I currently do not have any of that info. on hand. I am thinking Mattox can answer few of those questions as he has been doing some testing with it but some specific details are still being gathered so that it can be provided to everyone. The Black Widow is an exclusive RCA product and is not sold anywhere else.

So, without the software, we will still be able to program the unit with the on board buttons similar to the BeastX correct?
