So I just spoke with cliff on the phone. Hes very aware of the canopy issue and is working on a replacement as we speak. The CF tail blades he will be shipping to us asap. The canopy will be a little longer though. Pics of the new design will be up as soon as he approves the design. As far as the heads not being polished goes we are outta luck. They are already made lol. I had him change the description on the item so it no longer says polished.

Same issues here, head not polished, Plastic Tail Blades, poor paint, no cracks, I just hit it with some polish on the polisher, but afraid to burn it. Paint is not so much of an issue, just kinda disappointed in the head finish and tail blade issue.
So far the CF looks good, no sharp edges like I usually get with Align.
Is Cliff going to ship CF tail blades to EVERYBODY that ordered the kit?
On a second note, I got my Scorpion motor today, they just shipped it yesterday at 3:30...

yes Ibelieve everyone who ordered the kit will also received a set of CF tail blades in the mail. Im debating on returning my head and ordering an RJX since they are nearly identical to the chaos head but polished up real nice as ours were supposed to be. We will def be getting new canopies he assured me of that. Jury is still out on what it will look like though so Im still bummed.

Is there anyone that has already started assembly on theres? I just started and the CF mount is to thick to fit in the frame mounting holes. What did u do? not a fan of trying to dremel a cf frame.

Just joined this forum. Also just got my 550 and I have to say, besides the canopy, which does not bother me since I will use this one as just a test canopy, and I a new one that from what I understand will be from a different factory, I love this thing. I see your issue on the CF bracket but took me a few min to open that up with a razor. Not the end of the world but they should fix that. I kind of knew that the first batch may have a few quarks here and there but im very impressed so far. I have mine about 80% done. Not bad since I just got mine about 4 hrs ago.

I got the scorpion edition only because this is the only 550 I know of that has the wide frames to allow for the larger motors. I heard Cliff was flying this on 12S,, anyone going this route? Its nice to know they put the 3rd bearing block in, because 12s set up will need it.

the hole in the frame is 1.5mm heigh and the cf mount is 2.1mm thick so its off by .6mm Started on mine this morning, I didn't have a big issue with the hole like you have garretttt. it just needed some elbow grease I guess, i basically opened up the hole alittle with a exacto knife. The rest of the build is going really well actually, yes I agree with the finish of the canopy problem but I was lucky enough to get a hold of Cliff at RCAerodyne and he is a very nice person to talk to. He told me he would replace it so I am not going to loose sleep over it. I own pretty much the rest of the chaos line of helicopters and loved every one of them. There were a few minor things with my 600 but I tell you what, the customer service I get from them is why I contiue to buy from them...I didn't get that from my LHS. when I had problems with my Trex 500, the tail grip issue was never solved so I ended up replacing all the parts myself. you can't pick up the phone and call Align like you can with RCAerodyne. Too bad you're having all these problems garretttt but chill dude, its all good man. just wait and get your replacements from them.
