I got mine in the mail today! I was a little disappointed to find that the canopy had two cracks in it, one on each side where the metal parts that were floating around loose in the same compartment as the canopy beat the hell out of it. I think that RCA could use a little help in the packaging department! Other then that it looks like it should be an good chopper. I have a question.....Can I assume that sense it did not come with instructions that I would just use the instructions from the Trex 550E? What is the procedure for getting my canopy replaced? I am looking forward to getting this one built this weekend! jdanks

My canopy did not have any cracks, but had a large dent in it from the packing. It pushed out without damage, but the paint quality is below par. There is alot of dirt in the clear, runs, striping tape left on the canopy and then cleared over. Just poor paint quality. If I had paid T-Rex prices, then I would be very disappointed, but so far, everything else looks of good quality. As far as the component quality, I will post my review later, as I will not be building this myself. It is a gift to a friend and co worker who gave me the idea for my No Neck Transmitter Harness that has sold very well and made me some good money, so it is a "Thank You" gift for him. I will help him build it soon. As far as the paint, I am no painter, but I can turn out 10x the quality in my garage with rattle cans, an airbrush and a clear gun on a 40yr old compressor, and over the counter cheap auto clear.

If I get this package and stuff is cracked or dented I will return it very quickly. I have issues when it comes to simple tasks and not being carried out with any type of attention to detail. A simple thing like packaging can say so much about a company.

mines supposed to be here today according to the tracking info. Kind of nervous about these canopy issues. Bad paint or cracks seems like your only option really not happy. I guess the link I posted to ebay was were these canopies really came from.

The canopy finish on my 600 is very nice just doesnt clear the main gear. I knew they should have kept the old skull design.

Additional to what I've said, it would be unfair to judge a company by a product that was manufactured and packaged from someone else. Yes, RCA owes the responsibility to their customers to check the products that gets shipped as part of quality control but to judge them by how something gets package is simply unfair. Things/parts can get shifted during shipping. You can't expect a company to go through 100s and sometimes 1000s of boxed product just to see if they were packaged correctly, that is something the company/factory where it was shipped from should have already done. As for quality control on the canopies having a poor finish, well that is exactly what that is but that said like I've mentioned before...it'll get replaced no doubt. How many times have you heard a product being recalled due to some sort of an issue? Plenty...correct? So its not uncommon that sometimes somewhere along the line of production, a product is not 100% perfect but not because of the company who sold it to you but the factory that produced it. This is something that will be corrected between RCA and the factory where this product is being producted. So you all can rest assure that you're all in the best hands of customer service. If any of you guys have ever done business with RCA, you know exactly what I am talking about. If there is anything wrong with what you purchased, they ALWAYS take care of it.

I have zero doubts that cliff will take care of everyone who has bought anything from him. After talking to him on the phone I will vouch for it. Just wish the canopies were of higher quality from the start. Especially on a product that has been this long coming and is a showcase for the new chaos FBL technology. Others see a canopy that looks like this at the field will be asking them self the same question. Correct?

The rest of my kit so far looks good! I would never discount the quality of the kit or the company that makes or resells the kit because of a packaging error. It is not the error that defines the company, it is how quickly they fix the error that separates a good company from a bad one. When the MSH Protos first came out they had similar issues with packaging of the canopy in the kit. MSH was quick to fix the issue, and I hope that RCA is just as quick.
Dr. Evil if you would please give Cliff my name so he can replace my canopy.
Thanks, jdanks
