Gang starting a build of the 88" wingspan RC Aerodyne's B200 Super King Air.
Not sure how it happened but I was able to get a King Air kit from Cliff. (Guess my prayers were answered!)
Just so everyone knows the one that I'm building is a pre-production kit.
Cliff is in the process of changing manufactures as the quality of these initial kits just wasn't up to his expectations.
He's made the decision as to who will be making the new kits and all I can say is that if the quality of their other kits is any indication of what to expect we'll all be amazed!
Never-the-less this pre-production version is still a beautiful kit and I'm excited about the build.
These pre-production kits don't have any instructions so will be document as I go.
If anyone has any suggestions or comments on this build I welcome their comments/suggestions!
Here's what the kit comes in (2 boxes)
Here's the packed fuselage box
With the rudder taken out
The packed wing and tail surfaces
Here's some of the parts unpacked (Some I left wrapped to keep parts together)
Here's the interior linings
Parts bag (Engine mounting frames, motor mounts and hardware)
Center wing panel
Bottom of center wing panel
Seats (Nice that these are already assembled. Kits where I had to assemble the seats were a pain as the joints were critical if you wanted a good looking seat)
Horizontal stab
One of the props and it's spinner
Fuselage
Fuselage with rudder taped to it (12" ruler placed along side for size) this thing is BIG...
Here's one of the nacelles placed along side of the fuselage. (One of the quality issues : The trim doesn't line up. Nothing a little airbrushing won't fix)
Here's the landing gear package. (The gear are a work of art)
Here's the nose gear. (This will make you drool. Going to add some LED's for the landing lights. Going to be SWEET!)
Here's the nose gear mounted in a earlier version.
Here's the main gear with air brakes!!!! (Already looking at using a "T" so I only need to run one line up the strut)
One of the earlier kits taped together. (Cute girl is my Grand daughter, Emma. She loves being around when I'm working on my models!)
