I am building a Chaos 600 and converting into a light duty 700. My goal is to maybe run a fuselage at some point. The 600 has been stretched to 700 with a KDE 115 main gear and Universal Main Gear Case (UMGC). It has the Jetranger 700 scale rotor head (for 10mm shaft) and I am hoping to run 700mm blades. The motor is a 530kv and on 10s I should get a governed speed of around 1800 rpm. I don't plan to 3d at all. What would be the minimum cyclic servo torque I could use? At this point I am trying to keep costs down. Also, any recommendations for a 3 axis gyro? Also, would it be better to with two 5s or just a 10s brick. Hopefully it will balance on CG.
Thanks, Jim

Thanks, Jim Sounds like you have your work cut out for you. If your running 10s(i recommend 12s) I would get individual packs. not stick packs. With the jet ranger I have seen a lot of folks place the packs side by side. Or one pack on each side of the frame. You can always make a stick pack with the packs you have at anytime. for 10s I highly recommend these packs.. www.haiyinstore.com/products_mwh.asp?p_id=209For 12s which will better for your bird considering the weight and power needed. these packs... www.haiyinstore.com/products_mwh.asp?p_id=226or a little cheaper.. www.haiyinstore.com/products_mwh.asp?p_id=224&PID=225+&PID=226+Haiyin also has a warehouse in Las Vegas so shipping is a couple days. Servo specs. I highly recommend for a budget build the Hyperion DS20X TMD cyclic servos.(also Available in HV) and the Hyperion DS20X GCD on the tail(also aviail in HV) Speed wont matter as much sense you are doing basic flight. .13 is plenty fast enough. Torque for cyclic should be min.110oz/in or 8.0 kg/cm. I have flown the (BAD WORD) out of those servos and They perform very well and can handle what ever you throw at it.. Servo gears are also dirt cheap as well. Mattox

Thanks for clearing things up. Will go with the 12s. Probably made a mistake on the servos... but went Futaba S3071 HV. It's 146 oz-in 0.17 sec. Hope they are not too slow.
