I, have an RCA ec-145 with the scale body running 12s batteries. Right now the main gear is a 164t KDE, the motor is a Phoenix 500 kv. The heli has a 4 blade head with scale blades. ( 11t pinion)The throtle is programed 65% at hover with 4.5 to 5deg. pitch. During the early part of my flights to test and trim all is pretty normal but later if I add cyclic, it pitchs on elev axis and the tail seems to give up comp. I, calculate about 1k head speed without lost rpm due to load. Should I change to 12t pinion from 11t and or lower pitch a bit for more rpm on main and tail rotors to sustain good flight throughout bat time? The chaos has also, been converted with the torque tube drive as the belt drive jumped cog with anti torque input to the tail rotor. I, don' hear blade flutter so not sure if the tail blades are going into stall. change to 4 blade tail rotor for more authority? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I'll try and help as best as I can, as for changing the pinion from 11 to 12...I don't think it'll hurt to try. What is your headspeed now? Also, on the subject of the tail, I would try longer tail blades before converting to a multi setup.

I, have since called RCA and talked to a rep he suggested 14t pinon and thought that would yeild about 1400 rpm. Right now I'm runnung 600 size Align composit tail blades will the 700 series fit or does there exist a longer 600 blade set? Thanks Dr. Evil for the reply and info!

Thanks Dr. Evil for the reply and info! 600 size tail blades are around 95-96mm were as the 700 class tail blades are between 105-110mm long and I am pretty positive they will fit. On another note before going with bigger or multi tail setup, did you try playing with the gain on the gyro?
