Got the 450 Black Widow DFC kit last week. Looks like a nice kit. Took the head apart to lube bearings & loctite the screws. The feathering shaft bolts were just finger tight. When I reassembled the head the main blade grips were so tight on the head block that they won't even move. I think it's because the feathering shaft is to short. All the bearings are good & I think all the parts are there but the grips contact the head block when tightened. Anyone else have this issue? I think a longer feathering shaft is needed. I am not going to run this head with the bolts loose & rely on loctite to hold them. Way too dangerous!!!
Could measurements of the feathering shaft be taken & posted so I can compare? Much appreciated...
Thanks, Drev.

I recently had the same issue with an RJX head. I ended up just adding a shim each side of the spindle. You would be surprised how much 0.05mm in total added would make! I would take the grips etc apart first and give them a get clean and inspection for burrs and dirt etc. Try it again and if it still needs sorting I'm sure you would be looked after here or go your own route. I'd like to see some more of this is looks like a nice little bird to have in the case.

Hey Joe. how ya been? I'm not clear on exactly where you are putting the shims. Are you putting them at the bolt end of the shaft & is it the same diameter as the narrow end of the shaft or are you putting a larger diameter shim behind a grip bearing?
On another note: Man this place has been quiet lately. Must be the time of year...
Thanks, Drev.
Oh, I just got 3 MKS DS92A servos in the mail for the cyclic. Hope they work OK. Haven't decided on a rudder servo yet, everything in Canada is out of stock rite now.

Not too bad mate and yourself? I have not been on any of the sites lately. I'm just too busy to be on here or other forums and any spare time is spent on my new Hex aerial project which I hope will be fully set up in a few weeks. Any time on the net is looking into this new multi stuff!
You are right on the first point. Just put a shim on the ends of the spindle the same Id and OD. If you have not got a washer that size snip out a piece and wrap it around a bolt with the same ID. I put up a video of the RJX head have a look..
It will take only a couple of minutes but you will have to put it on, tighten it up and test and repeat if needed. You will get it perfect.

Cause this time of the year Everyone should be out FLYING!!! I had same issue with mine to. It's been noted and reported to the factory. After my three issues with my Align 450 DFC head I abandoned mine on the Chaos and installed a standard FBL head on mine. After an ESC fire on maiden I got a new one back from Castle and maidened my 450 yesterday finally! It was raining all weekend so snuck a two min test hover in to text controls etc.. Will get more up on it soon boys! Hope all is well. GET FLYING!!!

Hi Chris, I also had the same problem with the tail grips. When the bolts were tightened, the grips would not turn. It's like the parts are mismatched or something. Should put a ticket (or whatever ya call it) into RCA I guess... I don't think the head or tail should have to be replaced when it's a brand new kit. The torque tube isn't strait on this thing either. It will need replacing as well or the tail will probably have a bad vibration. Not worried about getting it in the air, the weather has been really shty lately around hear anyway. Winter is coming too fast.

It's not pretty looking yet. I strapped the ESC to the bottom of the 450 to break in the ESC and make sure it doesn't go poof again. Put a couple of normal test flights on it tonight. Need to tune the FBL system before I push it to hard. Working on a number of things but wanted to finally show the 450 the sky

Just got all the bullet connectors & the EC3 batt connectors soldered on the CC Edge 50. Haven't figured out where I'm going to mount it yet, side or bottom. It's too wide to go between the frame.
What ESC are you using Chris, just curious b/c you said it burnt up on you earlier?
Oh, I see you're using the ICE lite 50...

I been kinda MIA here but been trying to visit as much as possible to see whats new and I just saw your post on the 450. This is a super busy time of the year for me so I am sorry for not being here as much as I usually am. That said, please let me know if you don't hear back from RCA by Monday...I will give them a ring and see whats up for you.
