OK guys, I need help! Just finished leveling the swash and I have the head geometry nearly perfect! I spent all day at it and I was really proud of the result.... then, as I was getting ready to mount the blades and paddles to set the pitchs I ran into this; The flybar paddles I received have threaded inserts at least 2 metric sizes larger than the threaded end of the flybar! No way these are going on my bird. I'd guess that the the flybar is M3 (not sure). The threaded inserts in the paddles are at least M5. The part number on the bag that the paddles came in is 60143. I checked and that's the correct part number for Chaos 600 paddles. Jeez I hate surprizes!!!! Am I the only one who has run into this or am I missing something??? I looked for some type of adapters in my hardware and there aren't any. Help!

Did you push the paddles all the way into the hole me then thread it on? I though on the 600 the threads are on the inside of the paddle?

What happens when you slide the flybar in? Does it grab anything or is the thread really that oversized?

It is really that oversized. The flybar bottoms out in the bore and the threads don't engage anything. Really weird. It looks like they put the wrong threaded insert in the paddle.

I just sent a note with that photo to Cliff and Robert. I think Cliff is out of town right now. Hopefully I'll get a reply soon. That's the correct part number on the bag but it was written with a sharpie. Maybe these were for a 700 and got mislabeled.

That is really weird, I just looked at mine and the flybar screws in perfectly. Also, on mine the thread is not visable at the end of the paddle like what you're showing. It doesn't grab the flybar till I thread it into the paddle 2-3 mm. I say you probably have a wrong set of paddles. I would contact Robert @ RCA first thing Monday and I am sure they will send out a replacement ASAP.

That really looks like something was mislabeled to me, but I am positive that RCA will straighten things out for you. Even the best companies have things like that slip through quality control. When I was working as a bicycle mechanic we got a bike that was completely wrong. Wrong wheels, quill stem with a threadless fork. Even the frame was wrong. The frame was supposed to be aluminum, but what was in the box was steel. The workers didn't even catch it when they put the stickers on the frame and one sticker wrapped around the frame tubes completely .

RCA came through with the new paddles but they're the white ones. I would have preferred the CF ones.

I thought they might be. I'm just not crazy about the color.
Can anyone give me a measurement from the center line of the elevator hinge up to the center of the elevator swash ball link? Thanks

I remembered reading the issues about the paddles but I didn't have any problems mounting mine. I know we talked about BECs earlier but decided to go with a Castle ICE 100 and a Castle BEC Pro after lengthy discussions with Castle themselves. I've never had a BEC Pro but it sure looks to be a healthy piece of equipment.
Speaking of ESCs, I haven't really read anything bad about the Phoenixtech ESCs. Some people seem to have a problem setting up the soft start but I came across a good video that someone posted about how to set it up. I ask this because I'm trying to sell it and I've dropped the price to $40 and I don't have one single offer. It's NIP and has never been opened and I would think a brand-new 115A ESC would be worth at least that, lol. Am I asking too much?
