Is the 700 going through a redesign or something. Do we know when they will be instock. Looking for a FBL 700 kit in the next week or so for a scale project.

Yeah I don't want to go the trex route but may have to. I need to see if I can stretch a 600 to a 700. I dont know if I can or not and be good

mike...there is no problem stretching a 600 to a 700 if you are just going to do scale, but if you are going to be using high headspeed or doing any 3D type flying then it is not a good idea. The smaller spindle and mainshaft of the 600 are not good for the bigger and heavier 700 blades. The 700 is a lot beefier in the mechanics.

Bobsp12 thanks I figured as much, but have decided against stretching a 600 and just going to wait for the 700. How is your scale heli coming along

Hey Mike...it has been on hold for a month or so, I am building a mancave (shed) to do my helis in in the backyard, instead of on the kitchen table. It has been a mammoth job so far just clearing the space....the shed has been ordered, paving next, then build the shed and line it....It's going to be a month probably before the building of helis starts again. Your scale builds are going well I see. What are you planning on using the 700 for?

I'm looking at an Augusta 109 but still debating my son wants a 450 so it might just be he gets a 450 scaler. He is moving up in flying and so that will give us a 450, 2 500's and a 600. I think he will be flying the 600 next season though teaching him the safety side of these helicopters.

Dr. Evil, hey I know this is probably kicking a dead horse, but have you or anyone know of the update on the 700e's future? It is approaching a year now on the status of it. Looking thru other areas on the forum, I haven't noticed any word on this issue. Last known, the model was going thru some updates to design, but that was pretty much it. Was looking at going with the combo kit. With delays as they may, it seems to be more of a legal issue than anything else. Are you able to give any insite on the status? Just curious.

I know it's been a long time since it was out of stock but as far as the 700 getting any updates, I can't really say for sure. At one point I did hear that it was getting a triple bearing upgrade from the now standard 2 and a few minor stuff but nothing has ever been confirmed. As far as it being a legal issue, I really don't think that is the reason for being out of stock all this time. I do remember at some point this year Cliff brought in a small hand full of them and an official announcement was made here on the Lounge...matter of fact, here is the link: chaoscrewlounge.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=comingsoon&thread=615&page=2#6974At this point, I can't tell you any more about when it'll be back in stock. I would just keep checking their website for updates time to time.

Thanks Dr.Evil, and with help from crmodel, anxiously waiting for arrival of one of only a handful of 700's that were offered. Got all winter to get things together. It will be a slow process and with any hobby, got to make sure priorities are in line. Lots of research to do and with help here, to make sure it's done right. crmodel has been very patient with me. Thank you!
