Thanks, right now I'm waiting on a platform for mounting my Chaos 600 in the fuselage. I have flown some test flights on my Chaos before installing it in the fuse. Silky smooth, even after extending the tail boom.

That thing looks sweet! Please take a few videos if you can....also, I know you've build several HK600 before...how do you like the Chaos vs. the HK? Just wondering...as far as quality...building process and etc. Thanks for any inputs.

the actual building of the HK 600GT isn't that much different from the Chaos, its just that some parts have to be taken apart first and then re-assembled. The Chaos 600 has alot better features then the HK 600GT, I have a bit more info and pics on my site - www.myrcguides.com/And after ALOT of fighting with my comp and editing program I finally got part 2 finished, you can see the first test flight with the fuselage in this. I am editing another video of it flying, its short but will have it uploaded soon. www.youtube.com/watch?v==pM4c0Z5qH-c

Hey is the balsa mounts strong enough to deal with vibrations and flight torque? I like the idea of using the extra foam down the inside of the boom fuse Waiting for my new 450 so I get get my g-jive in the air again!

If it is soft balsa strips you are using, may want to put a thin coat of epoxy around the bolt holes and where the frame sits. You could even use ca to soak in there and strengthen where the holes will not lose their shape and the mechanics move around over time. I learned the hard way on my nitro 30 lonranger where it used wood rails to mount the mechanics. I fuel proofed it but didn't strengthen the holes to keep the bolts from wearing on the wood over time.

cr - well I'm pretty sure they will work fine, I don't plan on flying it aggressively but will be keeping a close eye on everything. I'm more concerned about the wood around the bolts compressing over time and ending up with llose mounting bolts. But as long as I'm paying attention to the maintenance of the heli i shouldn't have any issues.
mike - good idea, don't know why i didn't think to do that in the first place, d'oh, haha
anyways heres another brief flight

You know come to think about it the balsa prob has some nice give. My first tst flight on the g-jive I had a spacer come loose so I re epoxyed and added wrapped string for added strength.
I think I might even run a thin layer of balsa or felt to help with vibrations. Doesn't help I was running my Scorpion 4400kv at High 3D head speeds either...

I have yet to fix a good battery mount so I take it easy on my flights anyways. I had stuck some velcro tape to the bottom of the fuse so I could mount my battery for some test flights, and good or bad the velcro tape is now permanently stuck inside the canopy, haha. But I'm still not sure if I'll be adding a scale cockpit. If I do I'll be taking it all apart so I can paint the inside black, something I should have done in the beginning.
here is another flight from yesterday before the rain got here
