600 - 700 conversion with the electronics installed. Gyro mostly set up just waiting for some blades to finish setup. Still fine tuning, but it seems all the basic operations are set and working at least. It been a big learning curve with more to go.
700 Lite.

Very nice mate. I'm not sure if I would put the ESC inside the frame. Castle have been known to go up in flames and if it did you would want to be able to yank that thing off quick. Not to mention the extra cooling. You will like the Naza!

Yea, if the ESC goes I am up sh*t creek. The engine is fairly close and the fan circulates pretty good air flow over it. Do ESC give any signs before the go? Wasn't sure if you could put a temperature sensor on it and if started getting hot land, or if they just go with no warning. I fired it up without the blades an ran it for a while. I didn't see any vibrations, but there was a lot of resonance when touching the tail boom which transmits to the GPS Dome. Wasn't sure if the was normal or some more work had to be done.

The ESC can go in flight or as you plug the batteries in so I don't think you get much warning. You more than likely checked the tail TT before you put it in right?? So now check the tail hub is in balance. Here is a video I did to check mine. Skip to around 1 minute into the video. You can add tape to the grips to balance them.

Thanks Valkman,
I'll subscribe to your channel, great idea with the magnets. I'll double check the TT too, because it is an 800 chopped down.

HK sells the magnets if your interested. Seeing as you are taking the thing apart check the tail gears for warp, the bearings runs smooth, and the tail pitch slider is not of line i.e spin the tail and look at the slider it should not move as the shaft spins, check the tail shaft. Getting rid of vibs can be a pain. It's the main reason I am building a Hex as I need video without vibs.

I took the tail gear box off and it was pretty much the same. The TT seemed good with no wobble or anything. Took out the main shaft and gears and was fine with just the motor. I think it's coming from the main shaft, but could be wrong. It will be something to tinker with. Mounted the RCA Head with 700 Blades. Really nice, just wish it came with the linkage. I think the blade grip used a M4 ball link while the swash uses M3. Using KDE HD Link ends. Would like to try and find some m4 balls for the swash plate or find m3 linkage that that can be threaded to the larger diameter link rod. The linkage seems a bit loose on the M3 although I snaps in tight. Castle Creations had new firmware out, so I updated that and setup the governor to RPM mode. Set the speeds 1700, 1800, and 1900 rpm. Hope those are OK, 1700 RPM is the lowest I can go. Engine is putting out about 73% at max RPM.

Hey Harpy, If you remove your main shaft & feathering shaft & roll them on a piece of glass (like a glass table top), you will see & hear if the shafts are bent. It's a quick accurate way to check shaft straightness. Drev.
Great looking head by the way...

Also spin it up without the blades and a zero pitch. Have a look at the head at the same angle as the pic you have above. If the head is machined wrong or something is out of alignment you will clearly see it. On my RJX head the blade grip arms going to the link were slightly off and when it spun up I could clearly see two links. After a bit of filing with a light file (it is aluminium and files easy) and testing and retesting it was spot on when spooled up. It was enough to throw the tracking off when flown again.
Yea that is a sweet looking head alright.

I removed the tail boom and ran it up and it up and the vibration or resonance was reduced, so it's in the TT. I lessened it further by adjusting the boom a little when I reinstalled it. With the tail gearbox off it spins true with no wobble and the rubber bearing holders look to be set right inside. I wasn't sure if the pin I used to put on the new end on the 800 TT would be enough to throw it out of balance if it was sticking out more on one end.

So is the vibes from the tail hub? I know on my boom I put 3 bearing hold the tube.

This is with the tail gear box removed. At the first bearing spot on the tail seemed warm , so maybe the rubber bushing is spinning. I really lubed the inside of the tail when installing. May try to reposition and add a third bearing at center point.

Thanks Valkman for hanging in with me. Probably a fools errand trying to trouble shoot on a forum. I cleaned up the oil from inside the tube and bushings used dish detergent as a lube to insert them in the tube. I took your advice and added a third bearing on center point and positioned the outer two so the TT was still balance on the center. The basic drive train is pretty much vibration free now.

Your more than welcome buddy. I know from experience tracing vibs can be a pain but with you get it sorted it's well worth it. I have used vibration phone apps and recently used a small laser pointer which is great! Worth a look on YT there is always something to learn in this game.

I am setting up the Nasa H and couldn't get the "Cyclic Pitch" setting to the required 6.5 degrees pitch. I had to change servo arms and reduce the link radius to limit the throw with RCA head. I can at least to the 6.5 setting with the new arms. I saw there was a newer swash plate for the Chaos and was wondering if it would be a good upgrade and if it might help to reduce the throw more (it looks narrower). Thanks
